Meet Jessica

I believe we are all created for authentic connection, and that being loved and known are core needs. Aloneness is traumatic - let me walk with you. I also believe therapy should be more than learning to cope - it should lead to lasting transformation. It is my priority to see you, hear you, and celebrate you as you grow more confident to take new risks in your life and relationships to build a meaningful existence.
My Approach to Therapy
IN SESSION - I approach therapy with a strong emphasis on attachment, brain science, and your cultural context, with my primary goal being to understand what it has been like to be you so that we work at your pace towards your goals for growth. I want to understand how you see yourself and others through the lens of your story. Every thought, feeling, and behavior makes sense when we understand it in the context of your lived experiences - and dismantles shame. I listen closely to honor your strengths, courage and resilience - perhaps no one has before. I will also slowly and compassionately work with you to resolve painful experiences as you express readiness to face them.

OUTSIDE OF SESSION - It is important to me to remain a learner that stays current with what is happening in the field, and to be a therapist who does my own healing work. Research and advances are constantly happening, and if we don’t keep learning, we grow stagnant. Therefore, I make it my priority to receive regular consultation, attend trainings, and continue to read on clinical topics so I can confidently apply research-based approaches to your concerns. I also believe it is vital that we as therapists do our own work - I cannot take you further than I have been willing to go in dealing with my own pain. Therefore, I have done a great deal of my own therapy and inner healing and make it my priority to regularly tend to my own heart, spiritual life, and relationships so that I can show up for you as healthily as possible.
"I believe Christian counseling should be more than merely talking about God - we should expect to experience God's transforming power."

Clinical & Spiritual Oversight
I am deeply committed to being under accountability and in supportive professional community so I can be challenged, stretched, and made aware of any blind spots. When you are looking for a provider, it's important to know that the person providing your care isn't working in isolation. "In the multitude of counsel there is safety." (Proverbs 11:14).
I am in professional community with other therapists, consultants, and trainers in each modality I offer.
I am committed to involvement in the local church, and am a Licensed Minister in the Apostolic Network of Global Awakening, where I receive spiritual accountability and oversight.
